The Depth of Offense

In some ways the depth of a relationship can be measured by how deeply we can offend each other without ending the relationship.

Then why do I run from conflict so much? Gosh, I really desire relationship, but I really HATE conflict!!

@LindaFaye I would suggest that you cannot have authentic relationship without conflict. Conflict, and it's effective resolution, are at the core of healthy relationships. You cannot avoid offending the other person and they cannot help but offend you. It's being able to love through those offenses and conflicts that gives life to a relationship. In the moment, conflict is scorned, but afterward it is looked upon as a marker of accomplishment, "We made it through that together." This very much applies to our relationship with God as well.
