Partial Comfort

Whose love is given over-well
Shall look on Helen's face in hell,
Whilst they whose love is thin and wise,
May view John Knox in paradise.

Dorothy Parker

Steve, my thoughts will be given will little knowledge behind them. I can't figure out the Helen part but I have some thoughts on John Knox. My first is that history is written by those who win the wars. Either Jon Knox was the pain in the butt that he seems to be from what I've read or he went against the grain and made enemies who write the books.

Dorothy uses the words "may view" which hints that it is the views of people instead of the view of God.

Steve, when ever I read about Jesus I'm overwhelmed by His Love for us. It even makes me misty eyed now. His Love is never "thin" but is always bountiful and pure. Just a bonus thought my friend. I hope that your time with Dave is fruitful and full of Love brother. Do you think that Lennon was slain by the holy spirit when he wrote "love is all you need"?

Follow the link to find out who Helen is...

I'll comment on the poem in a bit...

As for the love of Jesus, it is anything but thin... It is robust, conquering death, sin, and every evil imaginable, even evil directed at Christ Himself...

As for Lennon, I don't know?

I agree 'love is all you need' unfortunately John Lennon was under some confusion as to the definition of love...

There is a big difference between agape and eros!

Dave and I are having a blast!

Never stop getting misty eyed!

Oh, that Helen!

Sometimes I wish that we had the separate definitions of love like the greek as well. There really is a huge difference between agape and eros.
